FEBRUARY 2025 NEWSLETTER
It was unfortunate that our event scheduled for Monday February 10th at Shelly Beach was washed out. It is never easy to make such decisions relying heavily on the forecasters.
Next Event
Our next event is scheduled for Friday March 14th at
Brighton Lakes Course with tee off from 9.34am.
The course has had a substantial upgrade over recent years, with some new holes added providing a good challenge. We look forward to a strong field for that event. Green fee will be $50 with carts booked directly with the Pro Shop telephone 9195 1000.
Our preference is that entries be made via the website nalg-nsw.org.au which has been upgraded.
Membership
A reminder that the membership fee for all members (Righties included) of $30 for 2025 is due and payable.

The fee period runs from January 1st to December 31st.

National Championships
Entries have started to flow in for the National Championships, to be held at Tuncurry, Tallwood’s and Taree courses November 10th to 14th. Planning is well underway. If you intend going, it would help if you could submit your entry and payment as soon as convenient to assist us meet some of the pre-event costs.

Right-Handed golfers are more than welcome to enter the Nationals as long as they are up to date financial members of a NALG Division.

Annual Financial Report
At the AGM we presented unaudited accounts. Unfortunately, an error was located due to overlooking interest paid on our Term Deposit. What this means is that the funds held at balance date June 30th was understated by $484.43. Therefore, accounts have been amended to show,
Cash at bank $4,530.63
Term Deposit $15,484.43
Total funds held $20,015.06

Bank arrangements
We are experiencing some difficulty with the electronic banking arrangements which may be a problem when activity increases for the National Championships. The current constitution says that all payments must be authorised and signed by two members of the Executive.  This was more applicable when we used cheques. Consideration is being given to slightly amending the said clause to have two authorise but one process. Any change to the constitution is subject to a members resolution at a general meeting where 10% of membership are present.

Good Golfing,
